Counterparts is founded by a strong management team of seasoned individuals with extensive combined experience in service, business development, marketing and communications:

 

James Shaffer, President and CEO

Before starting Counterparts, Jim enjoyed a successful 25 career in Information Technology, with most of those years in business, technical, and leadership roles at Omaha's ACI Worldwide. Jim holds bachelors degrees in physics and mathematics, as well as an MBA with an emphasis in information systems. Jim has been an active Board Member in several organizations, including past Chairman of the Board of the Accredited Standards Committee X9, Inc., a developer of US and International banking standards; founder and current Board Chairman of the (402) Arts Collective, an Omaha non-profit dedicated to mentoring students in music and visual arts; Board Member of Tangled House, a ministry helping parents of kids with special needs experience successful and fulfilling marriages, and co-founder of PSALM 98 Productions, a regional concert promotion company.

Richard Patterson, Director of Operations

Richard has a BSBA from the University of Nebraska at Omaha.  Richard spent the last 10 years as the owner of a chain of franchised restaurants.  He's also served on the National Franchise Advisory Council and the Co-op Advertising Board for Blimpie Subs.  Prior to that, he worked in the operations, training, and development areas for Merry Maids and Amoco.

 

Kent Matthes, Account Executive

Kent has 25 years of experience in outside sales and has consistently helped meet client needs and expectations.  Kent joined Counterparts in October 2008 to expand the client base in the Omaha and surrounding areas.  He's an active member of the Omaha Chamber of Commerce and the Sarpy County Chamber of Commerce.  Kent enjoys personal shopping, cycling, and spending time with his wife Robin, their daughter Kennedy, and their dog Cooper.

 

Alissa King, Concierge

Alissa is a concierge for Counterparts. Additionally, she is an event manager for a regional concert promoter.  She has 4+ years experience providing personal services for an Omaha family of eight.  She is service-minded, likes to be around people, and is a fun-loving, independent person.

 

Carol Newell, Concierge

Carol is a concierge for Counterparts, serving two Omaha businesses with approximately 500 employees.  Prior to Counterparts, Carol was a first grade teacher in Oklahoma for 25 years.  She is passionate about people and enjoys spending time with her family, hiking, vacations, and going to the beach.
